Gala Event : Dressy Casual
Dressy Casual (aka “Casual Elegance”) is similar to Smart Casual, with no jeans. For male or female, the shoes take on a dressier tone, and the fabrics are richer, dressier.For women, this level of casual implies a pant suit, a dress, or coordinated separates in semi-dressy fabrics. Dressy Casual demands that the outfit be well-coordinated and accessorized. For men, this category indicates dress trousers, a turtleneck or mock-turtle version, a dress shirt or a silk sport shirt (long-sleeved), a tie (optional), and a jacket or sport coat.Casual weddings call for this type of attire, as well.

Please dress appropriately to show respect for the international filmmakers who have worked hard to create a hand-crafted entertainment experience for the audience.
How the judging works
THE AUDIENCE VOTES TOO!
That’s right. Your opinion really counts.
You could help shape the direction of a the filmmakers’ careers. Here’s how the judging works:
1) The audience watches the films and rates each film on a scale of 1 to 5 based on its emotional or intellectual impact. This means that your attendance and vote determine which movies are sent to the judges. It’s a very big responsibility you have in helping determine the filmmakers’ cinematic paths.
2) The films rated highest by the audience become the finalists.
3) Those finalist films go to our elite jury panel for the their vote.
4) The results will be announced on the website as soon as possible after the festival.
Marine Lab
WILL THE BODEGA MARINE LAB AND RESERVE BE OPEN DURING THE FESTIVAL?
No, the lab is closed on the weekends, however, public tours are offered on Friday afternoons between 2-4pm. The land and beaches surrounding the Laboratory are strictly off limits due to ongoing research and protection.
Tickets and Programming
WHICH FILM GROUP SHOULD I SEE?
All the film packages have several outstanding films in them.
ARE THE SATURDAY & SUNDAY FILMS DIFFERENT?
Sunday’s films are mostly the same as Saturday but with many alternate titles.
DOES THE FESTIVAL HAVE ALL DAY PASSES?
Yes! An all day pass is available for non gala screenings. Buy a pass and hang out at the festival! If you previously bought individual tickets prior to the all-day-pass program began, you can trade your more expensive set of tickets for an all day pass and the balance will be credited to you.
ARE PASSES AND TICKETS TRANSFERABLE?
Yes!
ARE TICKETS SOLD AT THE BOX OFFICE ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT?
All tickets can be purchased the day of the event (cash or credit card)
ARE CELEBRITIES AND THE FILMMAKERS GOING TO ATTEND?
It is very possible but not promised. Any such appearances will be part of the GALA event that go with the Sessions 5, 5A & 6
