BIG NEWS!!!!!   THE BODEGA BAY FESTIVAL HAS MOVED TO HEALDSBURG

We would like to thank Bodega Bay for the outpouring of support for our 2011 Festival. Due to the success of last year’s festival, we have had to move this year to a larger venue. We are excited to join with The Healdsburg Center for the Arts for the 2012 Healdsburg International Short Film Festival.

All filmmakers from 2011 are grated entry waivers for any new films submitted to Healdsburg. All member passes will remain valid. The PBS series will be continue and will use the Healdsburg name. Please click link for details, and we’ll see you in September in Healdsburg!

Actor Jack McGee co-star in "The Fighter" has just joined  the panel of judges.	Actor Ed Begley Jr. will be one of the judges on the panel.  He has starred in over two hundred motion picture and television projects.
Veteran film editor Ken Schretzmann, A.C.E. is most recently known for editing the box office smash "Toy Story 3" from Disney/Pixar (winning an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature).	Producer Share Stallings is an Emmy winner for the PBS Curious George TV Series.  She was also the Producer of Curious George 2: Follow that Monkey (the sequel to the original feature), with the voices of Tim Curry, Jamie Kennedy, Matt Lauer and Jerry Lewis.  In her partnership with Larry Malkin, Stallings was a producer on Death at a Funeral (2010), directed by Neil LaBute, written by Dean Craig, and starring Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, James Marsden, Tracy Morgan, Luke Wilson and Danny Glover.
Christian Kallen has been involved in film for over 35 years, getting his start as a film critic for the Santa Cruz "Good Times. More recently he's been holding down the "In the Dark" movie blog at pressdemocrat.com, and he writes and does photo galleries for Healdsburg Patch. He is the author or co-author of several travel books and many travel articles as well. He is currently working on an hour-long documentary about an environmental hero. He lives in Healdsburg.	Daedalus HowellHowell is author of the novel The Late Projectionist and the writer-director of dozens of short films. As a journalist, he has written for the San Francisco Chronicle, the North Bay Bohemian, the Petaluma Argus-Courier, Los Angeles Downtown News, FineLife Sonoma Magazine (for which he was editor) and the Sonoma Valley Sun. As a broadcast personality, Howell has hosted shows on KWMR (West Marin Coastal Radio) and KSVY (Sonoma, CA). He presently writes a weekly column for the Sonoma Index-Tribune. He also pens a media column for the North Bay Bohemian and is credited as the "wine country editor" of Tasting Panel Magazine.

The breathtakingly beautiful Pacific Ocean view will be the backdrop to the Bodega Bay International Short Film Festival which will be held Memorial Weekend 2011.  The UCD, Bodega Marine Laboratory has graciously offered this magnificent facility to host film screenings of emerging cinematic talent from around the world.

Bodega Marine Laboratory (BML) is one of the oldest academic marine laboratories in the U.S., and its long history of research and training students has contributed invaluably to our knowledge of coastal systems and the policy that protects them.

The Facility sits just yards from the crystal blue Sonoma Coast and shares the beach with a seal rookery.
